Nature Photo Club Announces

Monthly Digital Shooting Contest!

Time to get out and take some pictures – be the winner!  A topic will be assigned each month.

It seems you’ve had plenty of opportunity to get a picture!

For this contest, please email one photo (using format we use for showing at meetings- see booklet) that depicts the topic.  Entries are to be emailed to Mark vorpal-bunny@sbcglobal.net   by the Saturday before the scheduled meeting.  No photos will be accepted after that time. 

At the meeting, we will run numbered digital photos twice.  (Once to see the pictures and the second time to write down your vote).  Each person will get a piece of paper to write down the number of their favorite photo relative to the topic.  Winner’s name will be announced at the meeting and shown in the news letter.  Currently, we are using digital photos only because of the time factor involved.  If someone will volunteer to coordinate & show film/slide photos, we can do that as well. 

Questions can be directed to Mark or Sandy.  It’s your chance to be a winner!!

Photo Walks may precede the monthly meetings. Photo Walks are intended to be learning experiences; please feel free to ask questions and have the leader look through your viewfinder. Contact a Club Officer for additional information.

Membership is based on calendar year - January through December,

and membership in The Wilderness Center, Inc. is a prerequisite.

The aims of this club shall be to promote and encourage amateur photography of subjects and events in and of nature; through cooperation, effort, and good fellowship; to give challenge to and promote progressive development of the membership in the field of nature photography; to encourage good sportsmanship through comparison and constructive criticism; when called upon, to act as the photographic arm of The Wilderness Center, Inc.

The Nature Photo Club consists of approximately 65 Members. Guests are welcome at our monthly meetings which typically have 40-50 members/guests in attendance. Meetings consist of a brief review of club business followed by refreshments and snacks and then the feature program for the month. We typically conclude the meeting with an informal review of images from our members and an optional critique may be requested. Members are encouraged to share their images at meetings in addition to display in the rotating gallery and club bulletin board, both of which on the 2nd floor of The Wilderness Center.
