The Enchanted Forest at TWC
October 12 & 13th
Magic” fills The Wilderness Center trails during the Enchanted Forest. On October 12th & 13th, children will have a fun-but not scary-experience. Walk through the Enchanted Forest and meet various creatures of the night, such as Lightning Bug. Lightning Bug will tell tales of his experience with the other night time critters and how he survives. Tree Frog will tell you about its life living up in the tree canopy. Bat will tell you how they eat insects that you consider to be pests, so you better be nice to them. Spider will spin a yarn and tell how important they are for you to have them around. Raccoon will share their experience of the woods at night. Possum will tell you what survival is all about, even with the dinosaurs. The Enchanted Forest is a fun, educational experience for children 4 to 10 years old. (They should bring their parents and grandparents along, too.)
Visitors will be escorted around the trail by volunteer leaders called Fireflies who will light the way with lanterns. Along the trail, you will stop for brief programs by the creatures inhabiting the Enchanted Forest. The walk takes about one hour. After the walk, refreshments will be served in the Interpretive Building.
