Welcome to the Holmes County Chapter of the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalists (OCVN). This chapter is for graduates of the OCVN program (see sidebar for information about the program). The purpose of this chapter is to promote the OCVN program and provide a forum for the exchange of educational and volunteer opportunities among OCVN graduates. The Chapter meets (most months) at The Wilderness Center (TWC) in Wilmot, Ohio.

 

The Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist (OCVN) Program is run through OSU Extension. Participants complete 40 hours of training and 40 hours of community service. Coursework includes training in geology, plants, insects, birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians, ecology, stewardship, and interpretation.
