Boring Stuff You Need to Know
Reservations: Accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, but must be received at least 2 weeks before the requested date.
Times at TWC: Groups may be scheduled back-to-back so, if you are late, your program may be shortened. Feel free to arrive before or stay after your program.
Times at Your Site: Try to plan flexible ending times, for student questions.
Fees at TWC: $3/student/program. No charge for teachers and other adult chaperones. Additional $25/showing for programs before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m., except Star Watches. Minimum of $45/program.
Fees at Your Site: $75 for the first showing of a program; $15 discount for additional showings of the same program in the same place on the same day. Additional $25/showing for programs before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m. Travel fee of 50¢/mile from TWC for sites outside Wayne, Stark, Holmes, and Tuscarawas Counties. We ill not travel for outreach programs beyond a 35 mile radius from the Center.
Fees for Star Watches: $85/program at your site; $3/student at TWC, minimum of $30. No additional evening fee. Watches may be booked beyond the 35-mile radius for an additional fee, to be negotiated.
Contract Districts: Contract District schools receive a 20% discount on outreaches; programs at TWC are covered by the Contract fee.
Cancellation: If it is a snow day and school is canceled for your district or for Fairless Local (where TWC is located), we will reschedule or, if that is not possible, will refund all money. If you otherwise can’t keep your appointment, contact TWC as far in advance as possible. If you cancel, and notify TWC at least 24 hours before your program, TWC will refund all but a $15 processing fee. If cancellation (other than snow days) is not received by TWC 24 hours in advance of your program’s start time, you must pay the full program fee.
Confirmation: If you have not received your confirmation packet within a week of submittingyour application, call! Please share the packet information with all attending teachers. If you change the number of students by 10 or more, contact TWC as far in advance as possible.
Lunches At TWC: Groups eat in picnic shelters unless it is snowing, sleeting, or below freezing.; then, you may use the lab, which seats 50. There is an additional $20 fee if we must clean your lunch area. At your site: If you schedule multiple presentations, plan at least a 15-minute lunch for our presenter.
