wonders. Readings from favorite nature writers will help us discover and enjoy
the seasons. Dress for the weather. You may bring a flashlight, but try not to use
it. We’ll cancel if it’s raining, snowing, or the weather’s dangerous—check our
Facebook page after 4 p.m. if there’s any doubt. Free for TWC members;

Great Backyard Bird Count
Sat., Feb. 18, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
TWC Bird Club invites you to join us for the 15th ANNUAL GREAT BACKYARD BIRD COUNT! We need your help! Anyone can participate, from beginning bird watchers to experts. It takes as little as
15 minutes on count day. It’s free, fun, and easy—and it helps the birds.
Scientists and bird enthusiasts can learn a lot by knowing where the birds are. Bird populations are dynamic; they are constantly in flux. No single scientist
or team of scientists could hope to document the complex distribution and movements of so many species in
such a short time. We will meet in the Wildlife Observation Room at 9 a.m. to begin counting species as they come and go at the feeder stations. You can join us any time of the day (up until 3 p.m.) and stay and count as long as you like, 15 min. - an hour - 1/2 day - or, if you're “hardcore,” all day!!! Free.
Your Night Sky Planetarium Show
Sat., Feb. 25, 2 p.m.
We’re trying something different in the Planetarium this year! Join us one
Saturday each month for “Your Night Sky.” After a quick update of astronomy in the news, we’ll see a star show of tonight’s sky. The rest is up to you—ask questions or bring up some astronomical topic you’d like to know more about. We’ll try to answer them that afternoon, but it’s a big universe! If we or others in the audience can’t answer right away, we’ll find out and follow up next month. All ages. Free.
* The bridge to the Sigrist Woods Trail is closed as of this writing. We don’t know when it will reopen. There’s a “back way” in, but it’s quite wet. Stop in the office for directions if you need to access it before the bridge is done.
