Conservation Easements

Conservation Easements are a common and flexible legal agreement between a land trust like The Wilderness Center and landowners intended to limit land use.

Conservation Easements:

                              * Permanently Restrict Land Use (i.e., Surface mining, subdivision, development)

                              * Allow landowners to retain the right to own, sell, live on, and use their land.

                              * Allow landowners to make the decisions.

                              * Could qualify a landowner for a tax deduction.

TWC is eager to partner with landowners who wish to protect the conservation values of family farms and natural areas throughout the region.
