The Explore Your Wild: Junior Naturalist program is designed to offer your upper elementary kids six weeks of nature activities to help them learn, create and explore the outdoors — whether it’s in your backyard, park, or a trip to The Wilderness Center’s trails.
Once registered, you will receive an email with directions to help you access program materials. Included among these materials will be your Junior Naturalist Guidebook. This can be printed at home, or you can stop by The Wilderness Center to pick-up a copy from our outdoor drop-box.
Every Monday a new lesson link will be added, directing you to that week’s activities. Activities can be completed in any order, at any time. You can always work backwards in your book, but never forwards. When each activity is completed, you’ll need to record it in your Guidebook.
When you’ve completed all six weeks, email photos of your completed Guidebook to firstname.lastname@example.org and you’ll be awarded your official Explore Your Wild Junior Naturalist Pin to wear with pride, displaying your knowledge and achievement.
Cost: We know that many families in our community are facing significant challenges right now. While this program costs us approximately $12 per participant, we ask only that you donate what you can, if you can.
