Zac Justus: “Invasives: What The Heck?”

Invasive species have played a key role in 60% of global plant and animal extinctions and are expected to be a growing concern for land managers, park managers, farmers, and the public in the coming years. Our Land Steward Zac will explore what invasive species are, why they are a problem, and the most damaging invasive plants in Ohio. We will also look at common landscape plants that have become invasive and their native alternatives. The best way to learn about plants is to see them though! After our short presentation we will explore the Wilderness Center trails learning how to ID Invasive plants and some of their common characteristics.
