Learn about the night sky from the unique perspective of a Cowboy Astronomer.  Students will learn about stars, their properties, their motion, and seasonal changes in the sky.  They’ll learn about constellations and some of the other objects in the night sky like the Pleiades star cluster, the Andromeda Galaxy, nebulae, and supernovas to name a few.  Along the way students will be regaled by star stories from different cultures and countries, including Native American, Germany, ancient Arabic, Polynesian, ancient Greece, and even British poetry. A “Tonight’s Sky” program showing seasonal constellations and planets currently in the night sky will follow the show.

Important Notes:

  • Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes before the show start time.
  • Seating is limited; pre-registration ensures you a seat.  Walk-ins accepted if seats are available.
  • For safety reasons there is no late entry into the planetarium once the door is closed.
